I am a CPA with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Virginia Tech.  I have over 30 years of experience working in public accounting for both small and large firms.  Early in my career, I worked for two of the “Big 4” accounting firms in the areas of audit, corporate tax, and international individual tax.  I then went on to work for several Richmond based firms providing tax preparation and tax consulting services.  At one of these firms, I also served for over 10 years as the Controller, providing internal management of the firm’s financial and tax records, as well as acting as the administrator of all employee benefits and payroll for the team.

 I am an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA). 

I enjoy working with clients and helping them fulfill their financial goals by providing consistent, thoughtful, and intentional tax planning and preparation services.  Working alongside Rachel at Banks Mountain Financial is the perfect opportunity to achieve this.

I currently reside in Chester, Virginia with my husband of over 35 years.  We have two adult children who live in Greensboro, North Carolina and Denver, Colorado.   Our oldest is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Music at UNC Greensboro, while our youngest has earned a Master’s degree from CU Denver and is now employed as a youth counselor.
